Domestic Life: Tonight's Feature - Meatloaf

For those of you who have known me a while you will understand that my nesting or domestic self has been in overdrive for a few years. Lucky Tracy is now the focus of those domestic urges. Last night it resulted in a traditional meatloaf dinner! Wouldn't my grandmother be proud? I have to say both Tracy and I were pleasantly surprised.

Thanks to my mom, always on standby for my domestic emergencies, and my much loved "Joy of Cooking" Iwas able to modify both suggested reciepes to create my meatloaf recipe. Dinner also featured mashed potatoes, organic sweet peas, and whole wheat rosemary dinner roles. The only thing to make me happier is the day when most of the food is grown by us.

Tracy was out on his first evening of deer hutning while I was in domestic bliss. Poor fella, he was so eager to bring home a fresh kill. (His version of domestic urges.) He actually got a kill but was unable to find the doe in the dark. (It amazes me the distances these guys hunt at - his shot was somethign like 250 yards. That's unheard of back home. No wonder he couldn't find the thing.)
